NIST’s Graduation Ceremony on Friday 24 May at the Landmark Hotel, celebrated not only the completion of its graduating class of 2013, but also marked an excellent finish to its year-long 20th anniversary celebration. The academic achievement of its 98 graduates was matched as is normal at NIST by the diversity of courses and countries to which its graduates have gained acceptance.
The 98 graduates have received acceptances from prestigious universities around the world, including the University of Oxford, University of Cambridge and Princeton University.
The event was enriched by live performances by some talented NIST graduates. Guest speakers included ML Nattakorn Devakula who gave encouraging words of advice to the graduates to prepare them for the world after NIST, and Mr. Adrian Watts, NIST Deputy Head who reflected on his 13 years of service at NIST, reminiscing on how far NIST has come since its foundation years.
The ceremony was officially completed when each graduate moved the tassel on their mortar board from left to right, signifying the start of their new journey in pursuing further success in the wider world beyond NIST.
