On 21 November 2013, H.E. Mr.Vijavat Isarabhakdi, Ambassador of Thailand to the United States of America, gave a speech at the Welcoming Luncheon organized by the U.S. – ASEAN Business Council at the Four Seasons Hotel in Washington, D.C.  The speech touched upon multidimensional nature of his work as the Ambassador of Thailand to the United States, the role of Economic Diplomacy to promote trade relations between Thailand and the United States and to reaffirm trust and confidence in the Thai economy. The Ambassador also pointed out mutual benefits from the Generalized System of Preferences (GSP) between Thailand and the United States, Thailand’s strengths as an investment destination, and Thailand’s large scale infrastructure projects to stimulate its economy and enhance the country’s logistics capacity as well as foster regional links between Thailand and other regions.

The function was attended by around 40 representatives of various sectors from government agencies, businesses, educational institutes, and others.
