The famed traditional Thai puppet theatre Joe Louis visited NIST on the 24th of April 2013 sharing the beauty of puppetry with NIST students. According to the Joe Louis Puppet Theatre, the origin of the small Thai puppet is unknown but it is thought to have originated in courtier’s performances in the royal court. Below are a few photos showing the unique and beautiful puppetry of the only puppet troupe in Thailand descended from the founder of the fine art of the Thai classical small puppet theatre.
